Peggy Reineking:The marriage ceremony was performed in Milwaukee, as there was no one in Sheboygan County invested with the right to perform a marriage. Mr. Reineking located on the homestead, where he made his home for the rest of his life. He was an ardent friend and developer of the Mission House (now Lakeland College). He donated seven acres of his land at its start and was a member of the board of trustees for his lifetime. He was also an active participant in the organization of the Town Herman Fire Insurance Co., and was a man ever ready to lend a hand to any enterprise that promised to be of public benefit.
